I stopped performing after being told that someone died at my show – Mayorkun Reveals
Nigerian Afropop singer, Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel, better known as Mayorkun, has opened up about a tragic incident that happened during one of his shows.
The former DMW artiste revealed that during a stage performance, he was informed that someone died backstage.
Mayorkun made this known while being interviewed by TV host, Ehiz on the Dadaboy Show, noting that it’s the worst incident that has happened during any of his own shows.
According to the ‘Betty Butter’ singer, he immediately stopped performing and went backstage to confirm the report for himself.
Mayorkun said that the person, however, did not die, rather he had just collapsed while he (Mayor) was performing on stage.
He said the zeal to continue performing was no longer alive because of the sad news, but for the reassuring words of On Air Personality, Dotun who made him realise that the person was not dead.
He went on to continue the show after Dotun told him that the guy fainted.
‘‘Someone told me that someone just died backstage. When I heard that thing I just dropped the mic and I was going backstage”, he said.

In other news, rapper, Dremo has revealed how he was welcomed after being signed to music star, Davido’s DMW records.
According to the ‘Ojere’ crooner the DMW founder housed him and other artistes for a like a year before they moved out of his apartment.
Dremo also revealed that the ‘Fall’ crooner, fed all of them during the duration that they stayed with him.
He made the revelation during an interview on Echo Room as he also talked about his rap career.
Dremo was signed to DMW alongside singer, Mayorkun in 2016.
The rap artiste stated that Disc Jockeys and other notable persons in the industry used to visit Davido’s house, and spoke on the need for him to combine rapping with singing to become successful.
He, however, said that he chose to focus on rap and never wanted to stop even though he could also sing. Dremo further stated that Davido was more interested in getting the right management for him rather than handling his music career directly under DMW.
