“Why I Won’t Vote For Peter Obi” – Pastor Enoch Adeboye Gives Reasons

Published

The general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), pastor Enoch Adeboye amidst the controversy surrounding the All Progressive Congress (APC) Muslim-muslim ticket, revealed that he will neither vote for Peter Obi of the Labour Party nor Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) nor Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Despite the outright condemnation from the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) of APC’s choice of a Muslim-muslim ticket, pastor Adeboye has neither condemned nor commended the development.

He however revealed that his status warrants that he remains neutral and not take side with any presidential candidate.

According to him, he sees himself as a father who shouldn’t take side with any of the presidential candidates or advise his members to vote for a particular candidate at the expense the others. He said such an act will be utterly unjust.

“why I cannot play partisan politics is because in my church there are APC, PDP, Labour and others which I don’t even know their names. That’s the reason I have never voted before. If I vote for one party I will be unjust to the other of my children who are members of other political parties. Am a father of all.”
