A former Presidential aide, Reno Omokri has reacted to the emergence of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State as the running mate to Atiku Abubakar..

Naija News reports that Abubakar is the presidential candidate of the major opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections.

This news platform earlier reported that the PDP is set to announce Governor Okowa as the running mate to its presidential candidate.

According to Arise TV, the announcement of Okowa as the PDP’s running mate would be made in the next few hours.

It stated that the PDP and Atiku have settled for Okowa instead of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State.

Reacting to the development, Omokri stated that Atiku would be running on a Muslim-Christian ticket following the emergence of Okowa as his running mate.

The controversial writer described Governor Okowa as a gentleman who has governed his state extremely well and someone who knows how to speak in public.

He asserted that both the North and South will love Okowa because he is a believer in one Nigeria and he is temperate. Omokri added that Okowa is mindful of the impact of his words and actions on the feelings of other Nigerians.

Omokri made this known in a series of tweets via his Twitter handle on Thursday morning.

He wrote: “Our candidate would be running on a Muslim-Christian ticket. A very balanced ticket, with a gentleman who has governed his state extremely well, and who knows how to speak words seasoned with salt. Nobody can beat the ticket HE Atiku is about to unveil to Nigeria!

“Both the North and South will love the man we have picked. He is a believer in one Nigeria. He is temperate. He is mindful of the impact of his words and actions on the feelings of other Nigerians besides those from his zone. He is a credit to the campaign.”
