Angry Nigerians lambast “President” Buhari and Sunday Dare for withdrawing D’Tigress from 2022 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup
N.B: We had to put the President in quote because at this point with things happing in Nigeria we strongly doubt if we have a president or any single leader in Nigeria..
The Nigerian female basketball team, D’Tigress have been kicked out of the 2022 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup after the Federal Government withdrew all teams from international competitions.
D’Tigress had qualified for the World Cup billed for Sydney, Australia, starting in September 2022, after defeating France and Mali in the Group B of the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2022 Qualifying Tournament in Belgrade.
FIBA’s decision comes after deliberations with the Nigeria Basketball Federation to see how the decision could be rescinded for the defending African champions to represent the continent fell through.
The global basketball body stated that Nigeria was withdrawn from participating in the tournament due to the failure of the NBBF to confirm Nigeria’s participation in the tournament.

Let's be clear o so we can know who to drag. Is it our President or Minister of Youths and Sports that took this decision? pic.twitter.com/WVs6Mrr8vj

So so disappointing 😣!!! @MBuhari @SundayDareSD @nbbfonline. This is similar to the withdrawal of Super Eagles from Africa Cup Of Nations in the ‘90s which affected our winning the nation cup for the 3rd time and woeful performance in the 1998 World Cup. Sad😞

So so sad, bad governance – nepotism, greed, corruption & tribalism has place a nation with abundant talents where it is today.
