“Why Should People Be Surprised That A Man Who Can Marry A 16-Year-Old Girl Can Also Steal N80bn” – Reno Omokri On Nigeria’s Accountant General (Details below)

Earlier today, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) stated that it had made an arrest on the Accountant-General of the Federation for alleged involvement in fraud totalling to the sum of eighty billion Naira (80bn)

This has generated a lot of reactions as many felt shock with the development, considering the amount of money involved.

However, ex-aide to former president Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has advised the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) not to end their strike, stating that the alleged N80bn is more than enough to pay their demands from the government.

In a post he made on his social media pages tonight (16/05/2022), he stated that the world shouldn’t bve surprised that the AGF could do such, since he had earlier degraded himself to marrying a 16-year-old teen.

In his words, he said;

Dear ASUU, If the Accountant General of the Federation can steal #80 billion, then you have no reason to end your strike. Ask Buhari to use the stolen #80 billion to pay you and then keep the change. After all, the money you are asking for is not even up to #80 billion! Just look at how morally bankrupt Nigeria is. the same Accountant General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris, married a 16 year old girl and he was not sacked or arrested by Buhari. Should anyone then be surprised that a man who can marry a 16 year old can also steal #80 billion
