“If Igbo Youths Understand They Own Half Of Nigeria, They’ll Stop Fighting For Biafra” – Mohammed Lament (Details below)
Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed has made a submission about Igbo youths and the quest to achieve an independent Biafra Nation.
Speaking on Friday in Anambra State, Gov Mohammed said most of those clamouring for Biafra don’t understand what they already have in Nigeria.
According to the Governor, Igbos own more than half of the investments in places such as Abuja, Kano, Lagos and many other cities in Nigeria.
Hence, he submitted that instead of championing the moves for separation from Nigeria, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) should rather be promoting the unity and peace of Nigeria so Igbos can continue to expand and make progress.
Edujandon.com understands he made the submission while speaking with delegates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state whom he met to solicit their support in clinching the party’s ticket for his 2023 presidential ambition.
He said: “When I was minister of Federal Capital Territory, the Igbo capital investment in Abuja was over 50 percent.
“That is the true position, not only in Abuja, but in Kano, Lagos, Kaduna and other states. So, we are interrelated and connected as a people in Nigeria.
“We need to stabilise that symbiotic bond that binds us together. When IPOB is talking about self-determination and self-actualization, for where? When you owe over half of the country.
“God may not give you everything. He has given something to you. That is the truth. Because of this, I am calling for this unity and fraternity among us. If the Igbo youth understand this, they will now know the need for peace and unity in the country.”
