Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel has backed fans who clashed with captain, Cesar Azpilicueta during their 4-2 defeat to Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday..

The Chelsea captain was involved in an angry exchange of words with fans at the end of the game.

And manager, Thomas Tuchel says he can understand why the fans were fuming.

The Gunners were riding on the back of three straight defeats before their visit to Stamford Bridge, but they turned things around.

Eddie Nketiah scored twice, with Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka netting one each to condemn the Blues to defeat.

Timo Werner and Azpilicueta scored for the home side in the first half.

Azpilicueta approached fans after the game and got into what looked like a heated argument.

Tuchel did not know what was said, but he was sympathetic to supporters being angry with his side.

“I was not part of it. I saw it, but honestly, I can understand the fan,” Tuchel said.

Asked what he will do as a coach to bounce back from the loss, Tuchel was blunt, saying: “I don’t know. Actually, I don’t know.”
