Osinbajo’s campaign team reacts after photo revealed that they shared N250,000 to APC delegates
Attempts by rival aspirants to smear the name of the campaign team of the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, was vigorously refuted on Friday by the Osinbajo Support Movement..
A section of the media reported that the Vice President’s team paid N250,000 each to delegates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State..
Prof. Osinbajo had, on Friday, received a rousing welcome by the Oyo State APC delegates during his meeting with them.
In a statement on Friday debunking the alleged payment of N250,000 each to Oyo APC delegates, the Convener of Osinbajo Support Movement (OSM), Liberty Badmus, said the “fake reports” were concerted to smear the name of the Vice President
He disclosed that the growing popularity and acceptance of Vice President Osinbajo across the six geopolitical zones have become a worrisome development to other aspirants who resorted to blackmailing and concocting lies against the Vice President.
In the statement titled “SEE HOW LOW THEY CAN GO”, Badmus said: “They were stunned by the success of Vice President Osinbajo in Ibadan during his meeting with the delegates and they had to concoct lies and resort to blackmail.
“They brought out the paper bag containing the aspirant’s literatures and refreshment, put some miserable Naira notes in it and took photographs and circulated same.
“It is not worth responding to at all, as they are known to be masters in fake news.
“While they continue to lie, Vice President Osinbajo and his campaign team will continue to traverse the country to convince delegates to elect him as APC’s presidential candidate.”
