Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola has lavished praise on Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of their Premier League clash this weekend..

The Manchester City boss sees the Portuguese veteran as ‘unstoppable’, a ‘goalscoring machine’ and ‘one of the greatest ever’.

Guardiola, who has faced Ronaldo on numerous occasions when both were in Spain with Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively, still has a lot of respect for the Portugal captain.

“He’s been one of the greatest in the last 15 years, alongside [Lionel] Messi,” the Spaniard told his press conference on Friday.

“What these two guys have done, we’re not going to see again.

“When you achieve these things, under scrutiny every second of your life and today, even more now with social media.

“As a finisher he’s exceptional, I’m not going to disguise it was a joy to watch him these years.

“We have to explode our game, our strength to avoid Cristiano close to the box, because there he is almost unstoppable.

“We have to control him. When you are one of the greatest that he was in terms of being a goalscoring machine, you will always be there,” the former Barca boss warned.

Guardiola noted that Ronaldo is so strong mentally and handles pressure in a totally different way and always responded in a positive way
