Why I Was Sacked As CBN Governor and Emir Of Kano – Sanusi
Former Emir of Kano, Mohammadu Sanusi has stated why he was fired as governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Emir of Kano..
Sanusi claimed that his willingness to speak the truth to those in positions of authority cost him his job.
This was revealed by the former CBN governor during the concluding ceremony of the AIG Public Leadership Programme Class of 2021 in Abuja.
Sanusi claims that he has “always stood to tell the truth to authority,” which is why he was deposed as governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and Emir of Kano, but that hasn’t stopped him from doing what he believes is right.
He bemoaned the fact that civil servants have sold their souls for personal benefit.
Sanusi emphasized that civil officials no longer do their responsibilities honorably, saying: “with time, civil servants have lost their credibility.”
“Over 80% of them have lost their morals for selfish gain,” Sanusi remarked, emphasizing that civil servants no longer do their tasks honorably.
Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, Chairman and Co-Founder of the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation, also spoke, stating that the foundation spent £563,000 training 49 top civil employees for the Public Leaders’ Programme Class of 2021.
He said that the foundation gathered senior executives from across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies as beneficiaries after partnering with the University of Oxford’s Blavatnik School of Government (MDAs).
