Middlesbrough dumps Man United Out Of FA Cup, Ronaldo Misses Penalty
It’s over the bar! Man United are out! Again!.
Manchester United have been dumped out of the FA Cup by Middlesbrough, the tie ended 1-1. With Ronaldo missing a penalty in the 19th minute.
Manchester United have been knocked out of the FA Cup after losing 8-7 on penalties to Championship side Middlesbrough at Old Trafford.
Ralf Rangnick’s side dominated the match and should have taken an early lead when Cristiano Ronaldo missed a first-half penalty, but would gain the lead when Jadon Sancho netted soon after.
Boro got back into the match through a highly controversial goal after Duncan Watmore appeared to handle the ball in the build-up before Matt Crooks poked in at the back-post.
The match eventually went to penalties with Anthony Elanga the only player who failed to convert from 12-yards during the shootout.
