Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has revealed how he reacted to Tottenham’s defeat of Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday..

The German also said that the defeat suffered by Pep Guardiola’s side in the hands of Tottenham does not change anything, insisting that City could still win the league.

Klopp urged his players to be ‘100 per cent focused’ on the immediate task of facing Leeds United in their next game and winning all the Premier League games to come.

The former Borussia Dortmund manager spoke ahead of Liverpool’s clash against a ‘very brave’ Leeds team on Wednesday night.

Riyad Mahrez looked to have salvaged a point for Manchester City on Saturday but Harry Kane headed home a dramatic 95th winner to secure a famous win for Spurs at the Etihad.

The result reduced Manchester City’s lead over Liverpool in the league table to just six points and with victory at home to Leeds on Wednesday, the title race would be seemingly very close.

The German gaffer was asked how he reacted to Spurs’ win at City, and he told reporters, “In truth, I was on the way home when it was 2-1 to Tottenham and then I arrived at home and didn’t follow it anymore because I was sure they would equalise anyway.

“Then we went out and the driver was very excited and told me that it was 2-2 and 3-2. When he said 3-2 I thought City had won 3-2 and he said, ‘No, Tottenham won 3-2′, and I said: ‘Oh!’

“That was my reaction. Nothing changed for us really, we have to win all our games.

“We expect that [Manchester City to win all their games].”

Liverpool will take on Leeds United at Anfield on Wednesday evening before their Carabao Cup final against Chelsea at Wembley.

Chelsea have already won their first trophy of the season when they defeated Brazilian side, Palmeiras to lift the FIFA Club World two weeks ago.

Both clubs are still making strong statements in the Champions League having won the first legs of their round of sixteen ties comfortably against Inter Milan and Lille respectively.
