We have chanced upon a new study that revealed the number of men who commit suicide worldwide..

The new study revealed that men account for 70% of suicides worldwide and this was shared in a recent post by a Twitter user with the handle, @enesa_ibrahimi.

The post reads;

“Men account for 70% of suicides worldwide, and data show that more than 80% of drug overdose and alcohol poisoning deaths are from males, demonstrating that gender gaps in suicide and substance use are literally a matter of life and death.

Additionally, evidence suggests that males perform much worse in terms of educational attainment than females. Males are also frequently underrepresented in tertiary education, accounting for around 40% of university students in the United Kingdom.

According to surveys, young males are disproportionately represented in the category of ‘not in education, employment, or training’ (NEETs). Recent UK figures, for example, indicate 191,000 male NEETs aged 16-24, compared to 124,000 female NEETs in the same age group.

Finally, men receive 63% longer sentences for similar crimes than women and are twice as likely to go to prison.”
