Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel comments on Lukaku and Ziyech altercation after Brighton draw
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel had no problem with the disagreement between Romelu Lukaku and Hakim Ziyech during the draw with Brighton on Tuesday. Lukaku and Ziyech seemed to be at each other throughout the 1-1 draw at the Amex. The television cameras picked up the duo having a strong conversation as they walked off at half-time.
Chelsea took the lead in the first half, with Ziyech’s 20-yard strike proving too much for Brighton goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.
But Brighton refused to let that faze them and came back strongly.
They grabbed a deserved equaliser in the second half through Adam Webster and could have stole all three points near the end.
Tuchel was critical of his attacking players in the build-up to the match.
Afterwards, the German was asked about the conversations Lukaku and Ziyech were having, which at times seemed to become heated.
BT Sport reporter Des Kelly asked Tuchel: “Are they trying to work something out there?”
To which the former PSG boss replied: “I hope.
“It’s normal that they talk, it’s normal that they’re not happy and it’s normal that they don’t like it if we say that we want more from them. That is normal.”
