Ballon d’ Or: ‘No untouchable this year’ – Arsene Wenger names player to win award
Former Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has backed Real Madrid striker, Karim Benzema to win the Ballon d’Or this year..
Wenger strongly feels Benzema has a good chance to win the 2021 Ballon d’ Or based on individual form and consistency.
According to him, Benzema is at the top level, adding that there is no untouchable this year.
Benzema was nominated in the 2021 Ballon d’ Or 30-man nominees some few days ago.
The France international will battle Paris Saint-Germain’sLionel Messi, Chelsea’s Jorginho, Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski, Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo and among others for the Ballon d’ Or this year.
The 33-year-old led France to win the UEFA Nations League this year.
“There is no untouchable this year. On individual performance, consistency, Benzema is at the top level,” Wenger told Telefoot.
“The uncertainty is: does the weight of the trophies play a decisive role?”
The winner of this year’s Ballon d’ Or will be announced on November 29.
