You’ve damaged your reputation – Trevor Sinclair tells Harry Kane
Former Premier League star, Trevor Sinclair, has told Harry Kane that the attempt he made to leave Tottenham has damaged his image before the club’s fans..
Sinclair said this on Wednesday after the England captain released a statement announcing his decision to stay at the club after months of transfer saga.
The 28-year-old England striker was linked with a move to Manchester City, Manchester United, Real Madrid and other top European clubs.
However, the asking price of £150 million placed on his head by Tottenham scared away clubs, including Man City, from the deal.
And speaking with talkSPORT, pundit Trevor Sinclair, said, “It’s huge news. I was expecting it. When the figures were announced between £125m and £150m, I thought that was too much for a 28-year-old. Despite his goal record, that amount of money didn’t sit well with me.
“Fair play to Daniel Levy, he’s in charge of the situation, he’s asked for astronomical money from Man City, they’ve said no and he’s managed to keep him.
“But, for me, Harry Kane has damaged his reputation with some of the fans. They will never forgive him.”
