Nigerian govt speaks on where Nnamdi Kanu was arrested
The Federal Government on Thursday said the re-arrest of the self-acclaimed leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was made possible via collaborations with the Nigerian security and intelligence agencies, and authorities from other countries, but was silent about the country the IPOB leader was picked up..
Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed who addressed newsmen on Thursday morning was, however, silent on the particular country the fugitive was nabbed.
According to him, the FG has an obligation with the countries that aided the re-arrest, stating that the Nigerian Government âwill continue to respect and honour the obligationsâ.
He said, âFinally, there have been speculations on how this re-arrest was pulled off and in which country the hitherto fugitive leader of the proscribed IPOB was nabbed.
âWhat we can tell you, once again, is that the re-arrest was made possible by the diligent efforts of our security and intelligence agencies, in collaboration with countries with which we have obligations. We continue to respect and honour the obligationsâ.
