LAUTECH’s Tuition Fees Reduced By 25% – Gov. Seyi Makinde
Seyi Makinde, Governor of Oyo State has declared a 25 percent of the tuition fees of students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomosho has been slashed..
On Tuesday, the Governor made this disclosure during a brief interaction with the students at the school auditorium in Ogbomosho.
He noted that the 25 percent reduction has been issued for every student of the school while making the announcement. Affirming the fact that the tuition fees of LAUTECH happens to be the lowest among state-owned universities in the country, the governor approved the demand for the reduction of the fees.
The governor said: “I am glad to be back among you. After the 2019 election, I should have returned to say thank you, but I didn’t want to come until I fulfill what I promised you, which is the sole ownership of LAUTECH by Oyo State.
“I am still coming back to spend the night here and we will really celebrate then. But I can leave you with a parting gift for today. Let me tell you, LAUTECH fee is still the lowest in the Southwest.
“Having said that, I will reduce your school fees across board, whether indigenes or non-indigenes, even for new students. There will be a reduction of 25 per cent across the board.”
At the inauguration of the High Dependency Unity of the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, the Oyo State Governor said his administration would be an appropriate flyover in Ogbomosho.
Speaking about the 170 worker of the teaching hospital who were laid of by the previous administration, the Governor said that such workers would be re-engaged and given five month salary arrears.
