The army in Chad has revealed what has happened in the country over the past few days since their president was killed. After the assassination of President Idriss Deby, which occurred when he joined forces to fight the rebels, Chad is yet to see peace.

According to sources, fierce battles have been the order of the day since Idriss Deby’ s assassination. The late president succumbed to injuries he sustained while fighting the rebels. On Friday, the military revealed that over the past two days, several rebels have been neutralized after deadly gunfire.

Sources said fighting took place in different parts of the country, including a deadly attack that took place Thursday in an area of western Chad where the president was assassinated. The army has promised to keep fighting until the rebels are stopped.

“The fight continues in Kanem, we will continue the fighting, otherwise they will destabilize us, ” board spokesperson General Azem Bermandoa Agouna told AFP.

The heroes say: do not die; they live in our hearts forever. The late President of the Republic of Chad, Idriss Deby, will go down in history as one of the greatest presidents Africa has ever produced. Idriss has always been at the forefront of the fight against the Boko Haram insurgency in Niger, Nigeria and Chad.

In March 2020, the late president launched what he called an anti- terrorism operation against Boko Haram in Chad. In this regard, he said: ” We have launched Operation Colere de Bomo. We must defeat terrorism to allow our people and in particular those of Lake Chad to live in peace. ”

“This is the meaning of the fight that our brave soldiers lead, ” he added.

The late president made the announcement after the terrorist group Boko Haram killed more than 90 Chadian soldiers. The late president had promised that they would hunt down the terrorist group and that the soldiers’ deaths would be avenged.

In today’ s world, where many presidents would prefer to stay in their comfort zone, Late Idriss was an exception. To protect his people, he led the battle to the Bandidos camp. He promised to fight terrorism and restore peace to his people.

Did Idriss Deby keep his promise? Of course he did, and as the hero he is and always will be, Deby died at the forefront of the battle against terrorism. Goodbye to an African hero.
