How I Escaped Plane Crash That Killed General Attahiru – Top Nigerian Politician (Details below)
A member of the House of Representatives, Abdulrazaq Namdaz, has narrated how he missed boarding the military plane that crashed in Kaduna, killing the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Ibrahim Attahiru, and 10 other personnel.
Namdaz who chairs the House committee on army made the disclosure in an interview on Channels TV on Sunday, May 23.
The lawmaker said he was invited to attend the Passing Out Parade (POP) of soldiers in Kaduna state.
He said he would likely have boarded the same plane with Attahiru if he had honoured the invitation.
Namdaz explained that he could not honour the invitation because of a special committee work he was working on.
The lawmaker said:
”Even before the crash, I was also supposed to who knows, God has his own way, because I was invited to attend the POP in Kaduna, Zaria.
”So you see normally we normally we also follow them, if not because I had a special act of committee work with what the Speaker set up and I am among, probably who knows I could have also been on that plane.”
Namdaz said he is sad and devastated about the death of the COAS. He described the day of the military plane crash as a black Friday.
The legislator stated that Attahiru demonstrated that he had the capacity to take out Boko Haram insurgents.
The House member also decried the safety of the Nigerian airspace. He described it as devastating, a situation whereby the nation has recorded three air mishaps in two months.
Namdaz also called on the federal government to urgently remedy the situation to avoid further loss of lives.
