Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state has named Nasir el- Rufai of Kaduna state as one of Nigeria’ s real enemies and one of the few people misleading Muhammadu Buhari, the president of Nigeria.

He said that the Governor of Kaduna State was a sycophant, racial champion, and religious bigot who despised everyone who did not share his religion.

The Benue state governor made the comment in Makurdi over the weekend in response to a statement attributed to the Kaduna state governor, who said that Governor Ortom was targeting the federal government over insecurity in his state to cover up his failures.

The Kaduna Governor made the comment in response to a video that showed Governor Ortom addressing protesters in Benue State after some killings. During a webinar hosted by the Africa Leadership Group, the video was shown.

“I did not hear what Governor Ortom said (in the video), but I know him, and he is not someone I take very seriously, frankly, ” el- Rufai responded. He has other governance problems, and he’ s using the federal government as a punching bag to divert attention away from them. ”

“We read the statement attributed to Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el- Rufai, in which he accused Governor Samuel Ortom of using insecurity in his state to target the Federal Government in order to cover up what he called the Benue State Governor’ s failure, ” Governor Ortom said through his CPS.

“We want to believe El- Rufai was quoted incorrectly. A governor who has failed in many areas as governor of Kaduna has no moral authority to accuse another governor.

“A governor who appoints a Muslim deputy in a state with a large Christian population is not preaching tolerance and peaceful coexistence. ”

“El- Rufai’ s attack on Governor Ortom is purely for the purpose of making him look good in front of the President. He seems to have fallen out of favor at the Villa and wishes to use Governor Ortom as a springboard back into reckoning.

“How has he dealt with his own issues in Kaduna? This is a man who has insulted nearly every influential Nigerian, including the late President Umaru Musa Yar’ Adua and former President Olusegun Obasanjo; a man who is his former boss and the man who thrust him into the spotlight.

“The unprintable things El- Rufai said during Goodluck Jonathan’ s presidency have not been forgotten by Nigerians. He made a snide remark about the then- President.

“His comments on the Chibok girls’ kidnapping and other acts of terrorism are still fresh in our minds. El- Rufai has consistently stated that the Fulani people must retaliate for any wrongdoing done to them, no matter how long it takes.

“Is Governor Ortom to blame for El- inability Rufai’ s to maintain peace in Kaduna State, where bandits have taken over some communities and kidnappings and murders are commonplace?

The statement described El- Rufai as one of the real enemies dwelling in Nigeria who would not hide his divisive tendencies by encouraging tribalism above moral values that unites Nigeria.

The statement said that the Kaduna Governor does not have the right to counsel anybody on the payment of salaries and worker’ s welfare. He said El- Rufai sacked 4, 000 Kaduna workers for no course under his administration
