Manchester City winger, Ferran Torres has had a mixed debut campaign for the Cityzens so far, but the Spaniard had a night to remember on Friday as he scored his first hat-trick for the club during their 4-3 win over Newcastle United in the Premier League.

Torres then gave the visitors the lead with a sublime mid-air back flick, meeting a free-kick to phenomenal effect. The 21-year-old then showed his poacher’s instinct with two goals inside the box, turning home Gabriel Jesus’ low cross and then turning in the rebound from Cancelo’s shot, which had cannoned off the post.

Torres feat on the night means that he has now broken the record held by Barcelona icon, Lionel Messi – to become the youngest player to score a hat-trick under the tutelage of Pep Guardiola. Messi held the previous record after netting a treble against Tenerife in January 2010 when he was just 22-years-old.

The Spaniard who moved to City from Valencia last summer has usually been played more often in Europe by Guardiola this season, but he has been impressive in his limited outings so far, scoring 13 goals in 34 appearances in all competitions so far.
