“Please Don’t Run Away”- Boko Haram Terrorists Pleads With Residents After Taking Over Town (Details below)

According to a report made by Edujandon.com Reporters, Boko haram fighters have dislodged the Nigerian troops stationed in the town of Dikwa, Borno state and hundreds of people have been trapped inside the town. The town have experienced numerous attacks in the past from the insurgents after it’ s liberation in 2016. According to Edujandon.com Reporters, the town was taken in Monday and while a lot of the villagers ran away for safety, some were held back by the terrorists.


The insurgents came with machine guns and trucks, then captured the military super camp 9 formation which has high profile fighting equipment and heavy vehicles. According to a source, the terrorists returned to the town hours after their initial attack was repelled and this time, overpowered the soldiers. A UN base was also reportedly attacked as well as a humanitarian hub in the town, trapping 25 aid workers in the process.


The insurgents now started roaming the streets, preaching to the remaining locals not to flee the town. Few days ago, Chief of Army staff, Ibrahim Attahiru had given soldiers 48 hours to recapture the town held by the terrorists. The fight against Boko haram has only become more intense in recent times despite previous statements from the Army saying that they terrorists have been largely defeated.

According to statistics, the terrorists group has caused more than 40, 000 deaths and displaced millions of people mainly in Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe states.
