Alex Iwobi has been blamed for Chelsea’s first goal against Everton in the Premier League on Monday night.

Former Arsenal player, Lee Dixon believes that the Nigerian international was partly to blame for the goal which helped the Blues take control of the match and went ahead to win 2-0 at Stamford Bridge..

Chelsea are now comfortable in fourth place after beating hard fighting Everton 2-0 with Kai Havertz and Jorginho on the scoresheet for Thomas Tuchel men.

Iwobi was substituted in the 56th minute with Tom Davies by manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Dixon noted that Iwobi had failed to deal with Marco Alonso, leaving the Spaniard to find space on the left and crossed the ball to Havertz.

“It’s the first time Alonso has managed to get away from Iwobi on the left,” Dixon said on BBC Radio 5 Live.

“On this occasion, Iwobi just let him go. It was Iwobi just losing concentration – and Alonso takes full advantage”.
