Catholic Priest Killed By Gunmen At Benue State
A Catholic Priest identified as Rev. Fr. Moses Fanem Ngugban along with three parishioners have been killed by some gunmen in Agu Centre, Mbatyula/Mberev council ward in Katsina-Ala local government area of Benue State…
The incident was reported to have happened yesterday, 30th March 2021 after the killers raided the village, setting some houses on fire.
According to a resident, the gunmen invaded the village, demanding to see Rev. Fr. Moses Fanem Ngugban. They were said to have attacked when they finished with their morning mass at 7:00 AM.
The resident said that they pointed to them the location of the priest as everyone scampered for safety. Moments later, they heard gunshots and when they returned, they found the Priest dead.
Katsina-Ala local government Chairman, Alfred Atera who confirmed the case added that they also found three other dead bodies along with the priest. He identified the other three as Mfave Tumachihi, Mbangohor Tsebo, and Orlukaa Ulu.
However, the corpses have been deposited at the General Hospital Katsina-Ala while a joint operation of police and other security agencies are on the trail of the hoodlums. This was revealed by the Spokesperson of the State Police Command.
