Bitcoin Breaks Past $50,000, Sets New ATH at $50,689.18
Bitcoin has officially surpassed the $50,000 price point mark as of 12:30 PM UTC..
The new all-time high was set three minutes later, at 12:33 PM UTC, when trading reached as high as $50,689.18.
Earlier today, at 4:16 AM UTC, BTC was just $2 shy of the $50,000 mark, when it reached a then-high of $49,998..
Unlike previous all-time highs, there is no widely cited reason for this surge past $50,000, therefore attributing this milestone to the overall daily momentum of Bitcoin as it gains mainstream acceptance and adoption.
