An Open Letter To Inspector General Of Police Who Plans To Deal With Any Protester On The Streets (Letter below)
Dear Sir, I believe you got to where you are right now through sound Judgement and hard work, there are some things I would like you to think about with regards to the EndSARS protest phase2 that might kickoff on the 7th of December 2020.
I know you have vowed not to tolerate any form of protest by any EndSARS protester, however this might not be the best thing to do as your major job is to guide the lives of protesters.
I believe you saw the outcome of the previous protest after some of your men opened fire at protesters, this might turn out to be worse if any of your men should shoot at any protester. Sir, they are only protesting for what they feel would make the country a better place, it would be better if you order your men to guide them against hoodlums and not arrest them. Constitutionally speaking, it’s against the law for any policeman to shoot at protesters who are calling on the government for help.
Apart from the fact that it’s wrong constitutionally to shoot at peaceful protesters, any form of violence from the police might lead to something the government is not yet ready for.
Please sir, think about this and calm your men against the use of firearms on protesters, thank you sir.
From a Nigerian citizen who cares about the nation.
Please share this article until it gets to the inspector general of police, and don’t forget to like and drop a comment below, your contribution matters alot.
