Mike Tyson has completed a fairtytale return to the ring by beating Roy Jones Jr – but the judges ruled it as a draw.

Fifteen years since retiring from the sport, millions tuned in from around the world to watch one of the all-time greats recreate his prime..

The fight was competed over eight rounds of two minutes and little glimmers of past greatness from Tyson and Jones were clear for all to see.

It was in the fifth round where Jones was rocked by a thunderous left from Tyson, proving the baddest man on the planet still had the power which made him one of the most feared fighters of all-time.

Tyson rolled back the years with his entrance, simply wearing a black overthrow on top of his traditional plain black shorts.

After Michael Buffer’s big introduction, and musical interludes from Snoop Dogg and Ne-Yo, the action got underway.

Tyson came out of the blocks showcasing the precise and accurate punches that he was renowned for, targeting the body in the first round.

It appeared Jones was taking it more literally as an exhibition, whereas Tyson, as expected, came out firing, looking for a big hit.

The fight perhaps surprised as an entertaining contest, with both competing fairly but certainly showing off their skills.

But the protective nature of the environment was clear in the third round when the official stopped to check for even the tiniest cut on he top of Jones’ head.

Fitness levels were clearly an issue as the contest went on, but Tyson flourished in the latter stages and kept control of the fight.

But the judges, who were working in an unofficial capacity, called it as a draw.
