Popular Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie has said that if the Nigerian youth support him the same way they backed BBNaija 2020 winner, Laycon, he can very well become the next president of Nigeria.

Yul made this known in a recent post on social media.

Reacting to a tweet in which a follower pushed him to contest for the presidential seat for being outspoken, Yul stated the above further saying that he would be the best Nigerian President yet.

He added that he will unite the country and also appoint credible men and women for public offices. Yul tweeted;

If Nigerian youths will realise the power they have & support me the way they support BBNaija housemates I’ll surely become Nigeria’s next President & best President ever. I’ll unite this country & appoint credible men & women to work with irrespective of tribe or religion.

Yul Edochie unsuccessfully contested in the 2017 gubernatorial election in Anambra state under the Democratic Peoples Congress Party.

Recall that 26-year-old Olamilekan Agbeleshe amassed quite the fans amongst Nigerians during his stint on reality TV show, Big Brother Naija.

His fans known as Icons carried him to an almost uncontested victory over his fellow housemates. Laycon was announced winner of the show after he amassed more than 50% of the votes while the first runner up, Dorathy, had just 21% votes.

That kind of cult following is what Yul is looking for. Do you think he might get it? Drop your thoughts in the comments section.

The 38-year-old is the only child of Nollywood veteran, Pete Edochie’s to follow in his father’s footsteps. He had his Nollywood debut in the 2005 film “The Exquires” starring alongside the Late actors, Justus Esiri and Enebeli Elebuwa.

He got married at the age of 22 and has four kids with wife, May Aligwe.

He recently made headlines after listing out the “qualities” of a real man on social media. His post generated quite the controversy.

According to the actor, real men do not pester women i.e. when a woman says no to a man’s proposal, he should walk away immediately.

He also hammered on the popular belief by some ladies that a man has to chase them for a long time in order to know if they’re serious or not. On this, he said “If she says yes you roll if she says no walk away. Ahead ahead”

His tweet continued, “The matter no be by force. Real men don’t pester women. Real men respect women and respect themselves too.

A real man has a lot on his mind, no be to dey think only woman. Real men respect everyone but fear no one.”

Yul’s tweets come on the back of recent criticism faced by Big Brother Naija 2020 housemate, Ozo’s seeming infatuation with fellow housemate, Nengi.
