Akeredolu, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), polled a total of 292,839 votes while Eyitayo Jegede of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) garnered 19,3585 votes, leaving margin of 99,254..

Agboola Ajayi of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) came a distant third with 60,051 votes.
