COVID-19: 1,100 deaths recorded in Nigeria
At least 1,100 COVID-19 related deaths have now been recorded in Nigeria.
On Monday night, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), announced 195 new cases in the country.
The cases were from 11 states: Enugu (51), Gombe (40), Lagos (39), Plateau (23), FCT (15), Rivers (12), Kaduna (8), Ondo (3), Bauchi (2), Edo (1) and Ogun (1)..
It brought the total to 57,437.
Of that number, 48,674 cases have been discharged and 1,100 deaths have been recorded.
The index COVID-19 case in Nigeria was recorded in February 2020, when an Italian man tested positive in Lagos state.
However, in the past few weeks, the number of infections have continued to decline steadily
