Man Utd vs LASK: Lingard & Martial fire as Red Devils book a spot in Europa last 8
Manchester United will face FC Copenhagen in the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
Anthony Martial saved his side from embarrassment when he came off the bench to score a late winner in the second leg of their last 16 tie against Austrian side LASK Linz..
Martial struck his 23rd goal of the season two minutes from time within two minutes of coming on to rubber stamp United’s place in the Europa League quarter-finals.
Philipp Wiesinger gave LASK a shock lead with a stunning strike before Jesse Lingard equalised with his second goal in successive games 93 seconds later.
United were disappointing – Solskjaer having changed much of his starting XI with his side 5-0 up on aggregate – and their understudies blew their chance to push their claims to feature in the last eight tournament in Germany.
Solskjaer will expect his side to play much better in Monday’s quarter-final in Cologne when United face FC Copenhagen, who are managed by his old Norway pal and former Wolves boss Stale Solbakken.
