Di Maria key as PSG prove too much for Leipzig in UCL
A dominant performance gave the perennial French champions their first trip to the final of European soccer’s top club competition..
Paris St.-Germain, a soccer team built with the Champions League in mind, advanced to the final of the competition for the first time on Tuesday with a 3-0 victory over Germany’s RB Leipzig in Lisbon.
Marquinhos and Ángel Di María scored in the first half to stake P.S.G., the perennial French champion bankrolled by Qatar’s sovereign wealth fund, to an early lead. Juan Bernat scored the third goal after a series of defensive errors early in the second half to book his team’s place in the final.
P.S.G. will face the winner of Wednesday’s second semfinal, between Bayern Munich and Lyon, in Sunday’s final.
