First player Mikel Arteta will sign for Arsenal revealed
Sevilla wonderkid, Antonio Zarzana could be Mikel Arteta’s first signing as Arsenal manager, according to Estadio Deportivo.
The 17-year-old is also being tracked by Liverpool.
Reports in the UK suggest that Arsenal and Manchester City have reached an agreement over Arteta’s departure.
The Spaniard will be named as the Gunners’ new manager in the next 48 hours.
Arsenal have already made enquiries about the availability of Sevilla’s Zarzana, who last year turned down a move to Real Madrid.
Zarzana is highly rated in the Spanish LaLiga and has also caught the eye of Bayern Munich.
“I heard that Real Madrid had put an offer in for me last year,” Zarzana told Marca recently, explaining why he turned down a potentially life-changing switch to the Bernabeu.
“I had been telling my teammates that I was going to score a penalty like that all week and they just laughed at me,” he said at the time.
Estadio Deportivo reports that Arsenal have spoken to Sevilla about the young midfielder and hoping that Arteta will land him as first signing.
