What Ronaldo Did After Juventus’ Champions League Defeat To Athletico Madrid (Video)
World famous footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo, has reacted after his side suffered a Champions League defeat to Athletico Madrid.
Emotions got the better of Cristiano Ronaldo as Juventus were defeated 2-0 away to Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash.
Ronaldo has only managed one goal in Europe since completing a €100million move from Real Madrid to Juve last summer and the forward’s frustrations continued on Wednesday evening.
The Portuguese received a frosty reception at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium due to his nine-year spell at the Bernabeu, with Atletico’s home support booing and jeering him throughout.
Ronaldo responded to their taunts during the game as he held up five fingers to the crowd, signifying the five Champions League titles he has won down the years, compared to Atleti’s none.
It was Atletico supporters who got the last laugh, though, as a pair of scrappy goals from centre-backs Jose Gimenez and Diego Godin gave the home side a two-goal advantage heading into the second leg in Turin – and the second effort actually deflected in off Ronaldo.
Ronaldo’s long-range free-kick was the closest the striker got to scoring but his powerful strike was comfortably saved by Jan Oblak.
Clearly still fuming after the final whistle, Ronaldo stormed through the mixed zone and repeated his hand gesture again.
‘I’ve got five Champions League trophies and Atleti have won zero,’ he said as journalists watched on in bemusement.
