Arsenal fans have ‘tears in their eyes’ over Theirry Henry and Cesc Fabregas reunion
Thierry Henry wants to sign old pal Cesc Fabregas in January – and Arsenal fans are loving that particular reunion.
Henry’s Monaco are struggling and the Chelsea midfielder is unhappy with his lack of game time at Stamford Bridge.
L’Equipe claims that Henry wants the Spain star to help out his struggling Monaco team – and Gunners supporters couldn’t be happier.
The Monte Carlo club, are desperate for midfield reinforcements after selling Fabinho, Joao Moutinho, Thomas Lemar and Tiemoue Bakayoko over the last two summer transfer windows.
Fabregas, 31, has started only one Premier League game for Chelsea this season and has only six months left on his current contract.
And while both players did leave for Barcelona fans just couldn’t help but salivate at the reunion.
One simply wrote: “Henry and Cesc back together? My heart wonât be able to take it.”
Fabregas has spoken of his desire to play more regularly, but is only certain to see action in cup competitions, with Maurizio Sarri preferring summer signing Jorginho in the Blues deep-lying midfield role.
He is a former team-mate of Henry at Arsenal between 2004 and 2007 and Monaco sporting director Michael Emenalo was behind his signing at Stamford Bridge.
The former Chelsea director is also seeking defensive reinforcements but Gary Cahill, who is also out of contract in the summer, turned down an informal approach.
