World famous footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo, is reportedly set to return to Real Madrid for the first time since departing the club for Juventus.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are reportedly set to sit together in the Bernabeu and watch the Copa Libertadores final, Express UK reports.

Ronaldo and Messi share a rivalry that goes back 10 years but will supposedly put their differences aside later this month.

The Copa Libertadores final has been controversially moved to Spain after clashes in Argentina postponed the second leg.

River Plate fans trashed the Boca Juniors team bus last month, causing authorities to postpone the match.

The tie – currently balanced at 2-2 from the first leg – will be played in the Bernabeu on Sunday, December 9.

And Spanish newspaper AS report that Cristiano Ronaldo will return to Spain to watch the action alongside Messi.

According to the report, Juventus’ clash with Inter on Friday means Ronaldo will have time to rest and recuperate before heading to Madrid.

Ronaldo left Real for Juve in the summer after nine years at the Bernabeu.

It is not known what kind of welcome the Portugal international will receive by the home fans.

As for Lionel Messi, AS claim he will also be watching the game as Barcelona face Espanyol on Saturday.

Real president Florentino Perez supposedly wants both superstars to sit with him in his presidential box.

Ronaldo and Messi have shared a number of stages over the years – usually at awards ceremonies when both men have been up for top gongs.

The pair have won five Ballon d’Or awards each but last night their dominance was ended when Luka Modric was handed the 2018 prize.
