Buhari Mourns As Nigeria’s Former Chief Of Army Staff Dies

President Muhammadu Buhari, has sent his condolence to the family of former Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Salihu Ibrahim. 
 

 

Former Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Salihu Ibrahim, has passed on at the age of 93.

 

According to reports, the Late Ibrahim who was former Chief of Army Staff, (COAS) from 1990 to 1993, died yesterday in his country home in Kogi State.

 

President Muhammadu Buhari, had on Monday, sympathised with his family over the loss.

 

In a message to the family, the government and the people of Kogi State, President Buhari in a statement by his senior special assistant media, Garba Shehu, said the news of General Ibrahim’s death had left the him sad and devastated, but he is consoled by the fact that the soldier in the departed former Chief of Army will remain immortal and never be forgotten.

 

“It is a matter of great pride that outstanding officers like General Ibrahim served the Nigerian Army. He served the nation with all his heart; with full dedication and commitment to duty. His service represents the hallmark of our Armed Forces.

 

“On behalf on my family, the government and the people of our country, I extend deepest condolences to General Ibrahim’s family ,loved ones and the government and people of Kogi State.”

 

The president also prayed that, “Allah grants him Al Jannatul Firdausi”.
