President Muhammadu Buhari is set to know his fate soon as date is fixed for judgment on a suit seeking his impeachment.
Justice Maureen Onyetenu of the Federal High Court in Osogbo, Osun State has fixed December 17 for judgement on a suit seeking impeachment of President Muhamadu Buhari by the National Assembly, Daily Trust reports.

In a suit filed by a lawyer, Mr Kanmi Ajibola, he urged the court to compel the National Assembly to impeach Buhari, claiming that the President does not possess secondary school certificate.

Ajibola told the court that the president violated the provision of Section 137(1)(i) of the 1999 Constitution by presenting a forged certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to win the election that brought him to office as president.

At the court, Counsel to the Senate president Senator Bukola Saraki, Mr Oba ihagbon told the court that he has just got the originating process and sought the permission of the court to allow him respond to the processes served on his client. He urged the court to give him a week to file the process and serve the parties involved.

Counsel to the applicants, Samuel Echeonwu, informed the court that he has served all the respondents and ready for the hearing of the substantive suit.

President Buhari and the Attorney General of the Federation Abubakar Malami were represented at the court by Mr Solomon Ogunlowo while the Speaker of House of Representatives, Mr Yakubu Dogara was represented by Mr Felix Ukaegbu.

Justice Maurine Onyetenu adjourned the case to December 17 for hearing and mandated the parties to ensure service of their processes without further delay.
