Face Of A Man Who Killed His Neighbour Over ‘Accumulated Grievances’
The officials of the Niger State Police Command have apprehended a suspect who allegedly killed his neighbour in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger state.
A young man identified as Garba Maru of Kokani Village, Fulani Camp, New Bussa in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State, has been arrested by operatives of the Police for alleged murder.
According to a report by PUNCH, the suspect was said to have killed one Umar Mohammed of the same address with a cutlass over some grievances.
It was learnt that one Hassan Mohammed had earlier reported that the deceased, who was his elder brother, was in the market when the suspect and one Dan-Muzua asked him to come back to their camp.
The suspect and his accomplice reportedly engaged Umar in a fight and allegedly killed him. The suspects inflicted deep cuts on the deceased, which led to him bleeding to death.
While speaking to a correspondent, the suspect said that he killed Umar with a cutlass over what he described as accumulated misunderstanding between them.
“I’m a Fulani man; I hardly forgive somebody that offends me. I will always remember and I’m ready to kill the person at any given time. I am such a person, if you wronged me in January and I see you in December, I will retaliate,” Maru stated.
The Command Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Abubakar, confirmed the incident, saying the suspect had confessed to the crime.
Abubakar said the operatives recovered from him the murder weapon, adding that the matter would be charged to court after investigation.
