Checkout What Solari Said After Real Madrid Were Thrashed 3-0 By Eibar
Real Madrid’s permanent coach, Santiago Solari after suffering his first defeat in his first game as faced the press to comment on a 3-0 loss to Eibar. The Argentinian was clearly frustrated by his team’s display and made his feelings clear.
“We weren’t good and we accept that, we have to work to improve and correct the mistakes,” Solari admitted to beIN LaLiga. “They were very good, it worked for them and we have to congratulate Eibar.
“Of course it’s a hard result, we didn’t expect it, and we have to work to improve and adjust certain things that we didn’t do well, but they’re perfectly remediable.”
In particular, Solari was quizzed on his team’s woeful defensive performances which have seen them concede 19 goals already this season.
“We will try to reduce it and increase how many we are scoring,” he responded. “It’s our job, that we concede few and score many.”
When asked if it was the worst game of the season for Real Madrid, Solari appeared reluctant to answer but was clearly unhappy with the display.
“I don’t know, but the worst of the last five games, definitely,” he confessed.
Solari was also asked to respond to Raphael Varane, who gave a post-match interview on the final whistle and identified the team’s issue as “a collective problem.”
“Interviews at the side of the pitch are difficult for anyone and even more so after a game like this, I won’t take conclusions from that,” he said.
Next up for Los Blancos is a trip to Rome to face AS Roma in the Champions League.
