Manchester United unveiled their new denim collection by posting a tweet with a glossy gif of first-team stars modelling the new clothing range.

The tweet read: “Iconic & bold. Our new #truereligion denim collection.”

The likes of Paul Pogba, David De Gea, Diogo Dalot and Marcos Rojo all donned United’s new gear after the club teamed up with American brand True Religion to create the denim collection.

“True Religion x Manchester United’s first-ever collection has landed,” the club announced.

“Doing denim different since 2002, True Religion is an iconic American denim brand.

“Steeped in rule-breaking history, True Religion famously took apart denim as we knew it and built sewing machines to cater for their innovative designs.

“The exclusive collection features jeans, shirts and jackets, including a highly desirable limited edition denim jacket embroidered with the club’s crest.”

However, the announcement did not go down too well with the Old Trafford faithful.

Fans were quick to comment on the tweet, expressing their fury and claiming United’s owners have forgotten how to run a football club.

“Nonsense. Focus on matters on the pitch, ffs! We last won the league FIVE years ago!” one fan fumed.

Another said: “Why don’t you try being ICONIC AND BOLD on the pitch?”

“We are a football club. Seems you’ve forgotten that,” a third fan wrote.

A fourth furious supporter said: “This is what we have become as a club?? FU!!! A effin mess and bad results yet you want the players to be models instead a pro baller?? Yeah no wonder we are ef up at the moment. #EdWoodwardout.”

“When are we going to concentrate on the football again? Wake me up when it happens,” another fan wrote.

“This clubs owners don’t know how to run a football club,” another fan raged. “They are using this club to make money.

“They have no passion for this club and I feel like they don’t care how upset they make us. Why aren’t fans protesting the Glazers? We had a plane fly to over another stadium.”
