Ghana Star, Ampomah Chasing Dream Move To Arsenal
The promising midfielder is currently turning out in Belgium for Waasland-Beveren, but hopes to one day make his way to the Premier League.
Nana Opoku Ampomah has seen his form in Belgium spark talk of interest from afar, with the Waasland-Beveren midfielder revealing that it is his dream to link up with Arsenal.
At 22 years of age, the Ghana international is starting to show that he may be ready for a step up in class.
He has recorded five goals in nine appearances this season, with that impressive contribution coming from a role on the wing. His exploits are seeing a future move mooted, with it possible that Ampomah’s career could head in one of several different directions from this point.
He is, however, prepared to admit that his preferred destination in any transfer would be England.
Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge hold certain appeal to a player of considerable potential, but Emirates Stadium is where he really wants to end up.
Ampomah told Sports World Ghana: “You can dream to play for Chelsea, Manchester United or Arsenal but then if they don’t come for you your dreams never come true but we will see.
“I just have to work hard, focus on the game and we will see where I can get to.
“But I think I like Arsenal more because I like their style of playing.
“It’s one of the teams I really liked growing up as a child so really like Arsenal.
“It will be a dream come true to play for Arsenal.”
Ampomah has spent his entire professional career to date in Belgium, having linked up with Waasland-Beveren in 2016.
Senior international recognition followed a year later and he is looking for that upward career curve to continue as he seeks to position himself prominently in a European shop window.
