What Mourinho said about Pogba’s penalty miss against Burnley
Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho has reacted to Paul Pogba’s miss against Burnley on Sunday.
A first-half brace from Belgium striker, Romelu Lukaku helped the visitors to a much-needed 2-0 win at Turf Moor.
Mourinho’s side bounced back from Monday’s comprehensive home defeat against Tottenham to record the important victory.
Pogba’s spot kick was easily saved by Burnley goalkeeper, Joe Hart.
Pogba had scored penalties against Leicester and Brighton earlier this season.
On both occasions, the France international employed a stuttering run-up which has drawn criticism from several pundits.
Reacting to the miss, Mourinho told Sky Sports, “I never blame a player for missing penalties.
“I blame the ones who refuse to go up there.
“Paul’s scored some good ones for us.”
