The incident reportedly occurred at mile one market, in Diobu area of Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital about 8 am, today.
An eyewitnesses account narrated that the 18 seat bus marked with blue/ white (state colour), was heading towards mile 3, area from Lagos (Port Harcourt township axis), when it overtook another commercial bus which was equally facing the same direction with speed and suddenly lost control, crashing into the labourers who were sitting by the streetlight pole on the pavement of the dual carriage road, killing one on the spot and seriously injuring the other who was rushed to the hospital unconscious for possible resuscitation.
