Luck has ran out on a notorious kidnapper after he was apprehended by policemen in Niger state.
Police have arrested a 27-yearold man, Mamuda Ibrahim, believed to be a member of a six-man gang of kidnappers terrorising Angwan Kawo Erena in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State, according to a report by NewTelegraph.

It was gathered that the suspect was apprehended by operatives attached to the Erena Division. It was learnt that the gang abducted a man, Mande Yalo, and demanded N6 million before he could be released. The victim’s family could not raise the ransom.

But after six days he was reportedly released without ransom. Ibrahim told our correspondent that he was aware of the gunmen had been making life unbearable for the residents of that community.

He said: “I know that they have been terrorising the Angwan Kawo Erena in Shiroro for some time. But honestly, I don’t know where they are at this moment, so I can’t give account of their whereabouts.”

Ibrahim confessed that it was the work of the devil and regretted associating the kidnappers. He said: “I pray that police will forgive me because I cannot explain how I know them.”

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Muhammad Abubakar, said yesterday that police operatives apprehended the suspect based on information received.
