Nigeria’s D’Tigers Qualify For FIBA 2019 World Championsnhip In China
Nigeria’s men national basketball team, D’Tigers became the first team to officially qualify for the FIBA 2019 World Cup in China with a comprehensive 114 – 69 win over the Central Africa Republic at the ongoing qualifying series in Lagos and were joined by Tunisia who also qualified after they defeated Egypt 69 – 47 in Tunis.Nigeria is now undefeated in eight games and cannot drop below second place in Group F’s standings.
The top performers in the game for Nigeria include Ikenna Iroegbo with 18points, Ikechukwu Nwamu had 16 points, Ben Uzoh had 14 points, Al-Farouq Aminu got 12 points while Stan Okoye and Alade Aminu both registered 11 points each.
D’Tigers return to the FIBA World Cup for the first time since 2006 having missed out of the 2010 and 2014 editions of the championships.
