There are rumours that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State might be defecting from the APC to the ADC should he fail to be successful at the primaries.
There have been strong reports that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode who has been locked in a cold war with his principal, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu might be jumping ship from the ruling All Progressives Congress to a smaller political party rumoured to be the Action Democratic Congress.

In fact, Ambode’s nomination and interest forms have been covertly obtained by a political ally identified as Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji. This has been described as a contigency plan should he get defeated at the primaries by the anointed one, Babajide Sanwo-Olu who is being backed by the powerful Mandate Group.

Meanwhile, Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, a former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly has denied reports that he purchased the governorship form of the Action Democratic Congress (ADC) for Governor Ambode to contest the 2019 election if the APC refuse him their ticket.

Speaking with a Daily Independent correspondent, Ikuforiji who described the rumour as the handiwork of mischief makers said those spreading the lie are only trying to can the ember of discord between him and some APC leaders on the state.

”I have rumours by some mischief makers and unscrupulous elements that I went to purchase the governorship form of ADC for Governor Ambode so he can contest the 2019 election on the platform. There is no iota of truth in that”.

” Some people just want to create problem where there is none. They are doing everything to pitch me against other leaders of the party in the state. But I can assure you that they will fail” he said.
