2018 Ballon D’or: Peter Schmeichel Predicts Winner

Manchester United Legend, Peter Schmeichel has predicted that Real Madrid Midfielder, Luka Modric will win this year’s Golden Ballon D’or Award.
Schmeichel has said Modric likely to break the dominance between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi for over a decade.

Modric won the Champions League with Real Madrid last season and helped Croatia reach the final of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Ronaldo who also won the Champions League alongside Modric, is among the finalists for the award.
Liverpool Ace Mohamed Salah is also in contention for the prize after reaching the Champions League final last season.
Despite winning the La Liga and Copa Del Rey with Barcelona, Leo Messi missed out on the finalists and Schmeichel has explained why Modric should win the award.
“I expect so, I think so yes,” Schmeichel said on CNN when asked about Modric’s chances.
“The only reason for that is that Luka [Modric] was so incredibly good in every department of how you have to judge a good player.
“First of all his history is incredible.
“The story that he can tell from when he was a young kid and what he has done with his football career, it makes him an interesting guy.
“But what he did in the World Cup, together with the coach and his teammates, in producing this amazing result for Croatia is just incredible.
“He was scoring goals, he was creating goals, he was fighting.
“He was just an incredible player in that period.”
