INEC Officials Seen Walking Through Taraba River With PVC Materials (Photos)
Some photos shared online by the Independent National Electoral Commission, have revealed what its officials go through for the success of elections.
As part of efforts to ensure that more Nigerians participate in the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise before the August 14 deadline, officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), have crossed a river to reach the Taraba hinterland.
This was to enable INEC reach eligible voters in Kurmi Local Government Area in Taraba State.
According to a tweet via INEC’s official handle, @inecnigeria, the officials were pictured carrying a motorcycle, as they waded across the river.
The tweet read: “The registration officers of Kurmi Local Government Area crossing a river to enable them get into the hinterland for the last lap of the Continuous Voters Registration in Taraba State.”
Although there have been calls for INEC to extend the deadline for registration, the reference to “last lap” in the recent tweet by INEC, indicated that the deadline may not be extended
